The rapid advances in Large Language Models (LLMs) give us unprecedented opportunities to improve our businesses, understand our customers better, and develop better products and experiences. But with these developments comes new competitive pressure. Which means we all need to build faster, and to build better. Thankfully, AI also can be used to help us supercharge our development! Let's look at how AI is used within the RAW platform to help you develop and maintain higher-quality data APIs.
Background: The RAW Platform
RAW is the modern platform for efficiently and securely building data services. It is an easy-to-use platform, with a rich set of data connectors, ready-to-use templates and a comprehensive solution including API development, hosting, API management, CI/CD in DataOps, complemented by a comprehensive data catalog, all supported by robust security measures. It is an ideal ground to build all types of data services and data products.
Supercharging Your Development
Over the past years, we have gradually introduced "AI-powered" features to the RAW platform. Let's take a look at some of the most important ones.
The first such example is on API creation. RAW includes AI-assisted API creation, which streamlines the initial API creation process. This feature allows developers to create APIs from a simple natural language description. This feature is powered by AI to generate source code automatically, given a specification or user description.
But once the API is created, we need to maintain its metadata. Again, RAW includes autonomous data cataloging, powered by AI. This means that your API metadata - e.g. the title or description you would publish in the OpenAPI spec - are always kept up-to-date to the source code. That's because RAW can generate API metadata and OpenAPI specs by analyzing the source code, all without user intervention.
And once the API is running, RAW can also help you secure the API, autonomously. Many of these security features are powered by AI, to ensure your code safe, and no accidental data leaks can occur (this AI-powered API protection feature is in closed beta; contact us to try it out!)
